Privacy Policy
How HALO collects, uses, and protects your information.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account Information: Email address and authentication data
- Usage Data: How you interact with the extension and service
- Payment Information: Processed securely through Stripe
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve the Service
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Send service-related communications
- Analyze usage patterns to improve features
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Stripe: For payment processing
- Resend: For transactional emails
- Neon: For database hosting
4. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Export your data in a portable format
6. Cookies and Tracking
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or sell data to advertisers.
7. Chrome Extension
The HALO Chrome extension accesses data on Amazon Associates pages only to provide the Service. We do not store your Amazon credentials or access your account without your explicit action.
8. YouTube API Services
HALO uses YouTube API Services to let you upload your Amazon storefront videos to your own YouTube channel. By connecting YouTube to your HALO account, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service and you acknowledge that Google's use of data retrieved via the YouTube API Services is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
8.1 What YouTube data we access
When you connect YouTube to HALO, we request the following OAuth scopes and use them strictly for the purposes described:
- youtube.readonly — Used to read your channel name and channel ID (so your HALO dashboard can show which channel is connected) and to list your existing playlists (so you can choose a playlist when uploading a video).
- youtube.upload — Used to upload videos to your channel on your behalf. We upload only videos you have explicitly selected in the HALO Chrome extension.
- youtube.force-ssl — Used to add the videos we upload to a playlist you have selected, via the YouTube playlistItems endpoint.
8.2 How we use YouTube data
YouTube data is used exclusively to power the features you have opted into. We do not:
- Sell, rent, or trade any YouTube API data to third parties.
- Use YouTube data for advertising or ad targeting.
- Use YouTube data for any form of profiling, credit scoring, or determining employment or lending eligibility.
- Transfer YouTube data to any third party except as necessary to provide the Service (for example, our database host Neon for storing queue rows, and YouTube itself for the actual uploads).
- Use YouTube data to train generalized or third-party AI or machine learning models.
8.3 How we store YouTube data
We store the minimum information required to provide the Service: your channel ID and channel name, the OAuth access and refresh tokens for your channel (stored encrypted), the list of videos you have uploaded through HALO (title, description, upload status, YouTube video ID, scheduled publish time), and any playlist IDs you have chosen as upload destinations. All data is encrypted in transit via HTTPS and at rest in our database.
8.4 How to revoke HALO's access to your YouTube data
You can disconnect HALO from your YouTube account at any time. You have two equivalent options:
- Click the Disconnect button on the YouTube dashboard in HALO. This revokes our stored token and cancels any pending scheduled uploads.
- Visit https://myaccount.google.com/permissions (Google's security permissions page), find HALO Maximizer in the list of apps with access, and click Remove Access. This immediately invalidates our access to your account at Google's end.
8.5 Deleting your YouTube data from HALO
When you disconnect YouTube from HALO, we delete the stored OAuth tokens and channel credentials immediately. Historical upload records (queue rows, video IDs, timestamps) are retained for 90 days so you can refer back to what was uploaded, and are automatically deleted after that period. You can request immediate deletion of all YouTube-related records at any time by emailing privacy@halomaximizer.com. Videos that have already been uploaded to your YouTube channel remain on your channel — only HALO's record of them is removed. To delete an uploaded video itself, use YouTube Studio.
9. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the Service.
