From Install to Earning in Under Two Minutes

Getting started with HALO Maximizer is fast. There is no complicated onboarding, no lengthy configuration, and no technical expertise required. If you can install a Chrome extension and navigate to Amazon, you can be running your first Creator Connections scan in under two minutes.

This guide walks you through every step, from installation to your first matched campaigns.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • Google Chrome browser — HALO is a Chrome extension and requires Chrome to run
  • An active Amazon Associates account — You need to be enrolled in the Amazon Associates program
  • Amazon Influencer Program access — For Video Scout functionality, you need an active influencer storefront
  • Creator Connections access — Available through your Amazon Associates dashboard

If you are not sure what Creator Connections is or whether you have access, read our complete guide to Amazon Creator Connections first.

Step 1: Install the Chrome Extension

Navigate to the Chrome Web Store and search for "HALO Maximizer," or use the direct link from halomaximizer.com. Click Add to Chrome and confirm the installation when prompted.

Once installed, you will see the HALO icon appear in your Chrome toolbar (you may need to click the puzzle piece icon and pin HALO for easy access).

What Permissions Does HALO Need?

HALO requests only the permissions necessary to function:

  • Access to Amazon Associate pages — So it can read your sales data and video ASINs
  • Storage — To save your settings and scan results locally
  • Alarms — To power the Auto-Pilot scheduling feature

HALO does not store your Amazon credentials, does not access pages outside of Amazon Associates, and does not collect any personal browsing data. For more details on privacy and security, visit our FAQ.

Step 2: Auto-Detect Your Store IDs and Creator ID

This step happens automatically. Simply navigate to any page within your Amazon Associates dashboard in Chrome. HALO detects your Associates store IDs and Creator ID from the page context. You do not need to enter these manually.

You will see a brief confirmation in the HALO popup indicating that your IDs have been detected. If you manage multiple Associates store IDs, HALO recognizes all of them.

Troubleshooting Detection

If HALO does not detect your IDs automatically:

  • Make sure you are logged into your Amazon Associates account
  • Navigate directly to the Associates Central dashboard (not a generic Amazon page)
  • Try refreshing the page after the extension is installed
  • Ensure the HALO extension is enabled (check chrome://extensions)

Step 3: Activate Your License

Open the HALO popup by clicking the HALO icon in your Chrome toolbar. You will see a field to enter your email address. Enter the email you used to sign up at halomaximizer.com and click Activate.

HALO validates your license against the HALO server and confirms your subscription tier. Your tier determines which features are available:

  • Free tier — Basic manual scanning with limited frequency
  • Starter tier — Sales Scout with increased scan limits
  • Pro tier — Full access to Sales Scout, Video Scout, Auto-Pilot, and advanced features

If you have not signed up yet, view plans and pricing to choose the tier that fits your needs.

License Activation Tips

  • Use the same email address you registered with on halomaximizer.com
  • License activation only needs to happen once — HALO remembers your activation
  • If you upgrade your plan, the new features become available automatically without re-activation

Step 4: Run Your First Sales Scout Scan

Now for the exciting part. Navigate to your Amazon Associates earnings report or orders report page. This is where Amazon shows the products your audience has purchased through your links.

With the report page loaded, open the HALO popup and click Run Sales Scout. Here is what happens behind the scenes:

  1. HALO reads the ASINs of products you have sold from the report page
  2. It sends those ASINs to be matched against every active Creator Connections campaign
  3. Matches are returned in seconds — typically 70+ ASINs scanned in under a second
  4. You see a list of matched campaigns with details: brand, product, commission rate, and campaign duration

Understanding Your Results

Each matched campaign shows you:

  • Product name and ASIN — The product you are already selling
  • Brand — The brand running the CC campaign
  • Bonus commission rate — The extra percentage you will earn
  • Campaign duration — How long the campaign runs
  • Status — Whether the campaign was auto-accepted or is pending your review

If this is your first scan, you may be surprised by how many matches exist. It is common for influencers to discover 5, 10, or even 20 campaigns they never knew about — all for products they are already selling.

Step 5: Enable Auto-Pilot

Manual scans are great for seeing immediate results, but the real power of HALO is in automated, scheduled scanning. Auto-Pilot runs your scans at regular intervals without any manual intervention.

To enable Auto-Pilot:

  1. Open the HALO popup
  2. Navigate to the Auto-Pilot settings
  3. Set your scan interval — anywhere from every 1 hour to every 24 hours
  4. Choose your accept mode (more on this below)
  5. Enable the scout types you want to run — Sales Scout, Video Scout, or both
  6. Toggle Auto-Pilot on

That is it. HALO will now automatically scan for new campaigns at your chosen interval, match them against your products, and handle enrollment based on your accept mode settings.

Choosing Your Scan Interval

  • Every 1-2 hours — Best for high-volume influencers who want to catch every campaign immediately
  • Every 4-6 hours — Good balance for most active influencers
  • Every 12-24 hours — Suitable for casual users or those just getting started

You can adjust the interval at any time. During peak retail periods like Prime Day or Black Friday, consider increasing frequency to catch the surge of new brand campaigns.

Step 6: Check the HALO Dashboard

While the Chrome extension handles all the scanning and campaign matching, the HALO dashboard gives you a bird's-eye view of your Creator Connections activity:

  • Matched campaigns — See all campaigns HALO has found and accepted for you
  • Earnings tracking — Monitor your bonus commission impact over time
  • Scan history — Review past scans and their results
  • Account management — Update your subscription, billing, and settings

Bookmark the dashboard and check it periodically to see how your CC earnings are trending.

Pro Tips for Getting the Most Out of HALO

Use "Best Per ASIN" Accept Mode

When multiple Creator Connections campaigns exist for the same product ASIN, you want to be enrolled in the best one. The "Best Per ASIN" accept mode handles this automatically. Instead of accepting every campaign it finds, HALO evaluates competing campaigns for the same product and selects the one with the highest effective value.

This smart deduplication ensures you are always in the optimal campaign without manually comparing options.

Enable Both Sales Scout and Video Scout

Sales Scout matches campaigns to products you are actively selling. Video Scout matches campaigns to products featured in your storefront videos. Using both together gives you maximum coverage. Read our detailed comparison of Sales Scout and Video Scout to understand why this combination is so effective.

Check Earnings Tracking Regularly

HALO's earnings tracking shows you the real impact of Creator Connections on your income. Use this data to:

  • Understand which product categories generate the most bonus commissions
  • Identify trends in campaign availability (some categories have more campaigns seasonally)
  • Quantify the value HALO provides — many users are surprised by how much they were missing

Keep Your Amazon Reports Fresh

Sales Scout works best when it has access to recent sales data. Periodically navigate to your Amazon Associates reports page while HALO is running to ensure the extension has fresh data to work with. Auto-Pilot handles this gracefully, but giving it recent data improves match accuracy.

What Happens Next?

Once HALO is set up and Auto-Pilot is running, your workflow becomes remarkably simple:

  1. Create content — Focus on what you do best: making videos, writing reviews, building your storefront
  2. HALO scans automatically — Every few hours, HALO checks for new campaigns matching your products
  3. Campaigns are accepted — Matching campaigns are enrolled automatically based on your settings
  4. Bonus commissions accumulate — Every qualifying sale now earns extra, with zero additional effort from you
  5. Check the dashboard — Periodically review your analytics to see your CC earnings grow

The entire point of HALO is to eliminate the manual work of Creator Connections so you can spend your time where it matters most — creating great content for your audience.
